user research: pain points

FRAGMENTED COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE

Indie rock enthusiasts often struggle to connect with like-minded fans due to a fragmented community. INDIE GO aims to solve this by providing a centralized platform for fans to connect based on their specific indie subgenres.

LIMITED EXPOSURE FOR ARTISTS

Independent indie artists often lack visibility and struggle to reach broader audiences. INDIE GO addresses this by supporting the indie scene, offering exclusive benefits to videographers and vloggers to help increase artist exposure.

INNEFICIENT TICKET PURCHASING PROCESS

The current ticket purchasing process for indie concerts is cumbersome and lacks social elements. INDIE GO streamlines ticketing and introduces group options, making it easier for friends to attend concerts together.

DISCONNECTED INDIE FANS

Indie music fans struggle to find a unified platform that caters to their preferences. INDIE GO solves this by creating a dedicated space for indie rock, offering ticketing, community engagement, and exclusive content access.

target user personas

To develop our target user personas, we interviewed a diverse group including music fans, former musicians, and content creators such as videographers and vloggers. We also analyzed the loyal users of competing platforms to build a broad understanding of potential user profiles. From this research, we recruited five individuals from our network who matched these personas and conducted brief interviews to gain insights into their behaviours and needs before proceeding to usability testing.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Mads, a music enthusiast, seeks a single, trustworthy platform for effortlessly booking concert tickets and discovering new bands, as he lacks the time to conduct extensive research independently.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Lola, a sociology student and avid photographer in Madrid, struggles with high ticket prices and limited opportunities for photo enthusiasts, which occasionally prevent her from fully enjoying live music experiences.

USER JOURNEY MAP

To empathize with our users, we created empathy maps and a user journey map that delves into each stage of the ticket booking process. For Lola Hernandez, a sociology student and indie music photographer, the journey map highlights her unique needs as an indie enthusiast. By understanding her experience, we designed a platform that simplifies ticket purchasing and supports photographers like her with discounts and promotion, fostering a deeper connection within the indie music community.
